Joining two maps together using MS Paint.
*You must have purchased the full version of CPC in order
to do the following.*
1. Open the map in CPC (from our website)
2. Zoom to the percentage and area desired.
Make a note of the percentage zoom level. We will have to use that level
throughout the procedure.
3. Right-click any where on the map. In the pop-up menu,
highlight View then click Copy to Clipboard with you left mouse button.
4. Click your Start button, click Programs, click
Accessories, click Paint.
5. Click Edit, click Paste. If another window pops up and
states "The image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap. Would you
like the bitmap enlarged?" Click Yes.
6. Go back to our website and pull up the adjacent map.
7. Zoom to the area desired at the same percentage as in
number 2.
8. Right-click any where on the map. In the pop-up menu,
highlight View then click Copy to Clipboard with you left mouse button.
9. Click your Start button, click Programs, click
Accessories, click Paint. (This will cause a new instance of the Paint program
to open.)
10. Click Edit, click Paste. If another window pops up and
states "The image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap. Would you
like the bitmap enlarged?" Click Yes.
Repeat steps 6 through 10 for each map you wish to copy
from our website.
For each time you go through the steps, you will have that
many Paint programs open.
11. Close our website's window.
12. Click your Start button, click Programs, click
Accessories, click Paint. (This will cause a new instance of the Paint program
to open.) Minimize this window.
13. Each Paint program will have a different map image in
it and one will be blank.
The blank one is where the finished map will go. Maximize
the Paint program that has the top (or left) portion of the map.
14. Click the select tool from the toolbar (box with
dashes) and draw a box around the area desired. Get as close to the edge of the
map as possible.
15. Click Edit, click Copy. Minimize window.
16. Maximize the Paint program that is blank (has no
image).
17. Click Edit, click Paste. If another window pops up and
states "The image in the clipboard is larger than the bitmap. Would you
like the bitmap enlarged?" Click Yes.
Minimize window.
18. Maximize the Paint program that has the bottom (or
right) part of the map.
19. Click the
select tool from the toolbar (box with dashes) and draw a box around the area
desired. Get as close to the edge of the map as possible.
20. Click Edit, click Copy. Minimize window.
21. Maximize the Paint program that will have the finished
image in it. The same one we maximized in number 16.
22. Click Edit, click Paste
Notice the dashed lines around the image that you just pasted, as long as
those lines are there you can move the image around. Move (click and drag) the
image to line up with the other map.
23. Once they are lined up. Click File, click Save As.
Select a Location to save the image and type a File Name, click Save button.
24.
Close all instances of the Paint program. You do
not have to save the other images.
