Requesting a Replacement Registration Key
You can use the following procedure to request a replacement registration
key from Cartesian Products.
1. This procedure must be executed on the machine for which you need a
replacement key. If the machine does not yet have the CPC viewer installed
on it, you should first install the free version of the viewer:
* If you are using Internet Explorer (as well as certain versions of AOL),
you can automatically install the viewer by going to
http://www.cartesianinc.com/Products/CPCViewAX/Install/
* If you are using Netscape (or AOL or any other browser that supports
plug-ins), you can download the appropriate viewer from our web site at
"http://www.cartesianinc.com/Products/CPCLite/Download/". Follow the
instructions on the download page for installation details.
2. Run the viewer by opening any TIFF, CPC, or other compatible image in
your web browser (e.g., Netscape; Internet Explorer). For example, if your
computer has Internet access, you could run the viewer by opening the URL
"http://www.cartesianinc.com/Demo/CPCStreams/Gilman2.cpi" in your web
browser.
3. Click the right mouse button anywhere within the CPC image window to
bring up the right mouse menu. Select "About CPC View..." or "About CPC
Lite..." from the right mouse menu. This will cause the CPC "About" box to
appear.
4. There is a small picture of a key at the very bottom of the About box.
Next to the key is a number. The number is your CPC machine identifier.
Click on the key with the left mouse button. This will copy the machine
identifier to the Windows clipboard.
5. Using your email software (e.g., Outlook, Netscape Composer), create a
new email message to "support@cartesianinc.com". (If your email reading
software supports hyperlinks, just click on the following link:

6. Click on the "Subject" area of the email message and select "Paste"
from the "Edit" menu. This will paste the machine identification into the
subject of the message.
7. Type a brief description of your need for a replacement key into the
body of the message.
8. Select "Send Now" or "Send Message" from the File menu or click on the
Send button in the toolbar. This will send Cartesian Products email with the
information needed to generate the registration key for the machine.
Once we receive the replacement request, we will send you, by reply email,
the replacement key along with instructions for entering it.
