Grids
These are table-like data entry areas for sets of related data items, such as
the Selected Components grid (the first five columns of which are shown above).
Each "row" in a grid is for a single set of data items. Each "column" in a
grid is for a different data item.
Example: The Selected Components grid above has three components in separate rows, one
for stucco exterior walls, one for composition shingle roofing and the last for
carpet and pad floor cover. Each row shown above has five different values,
each in a separate column: Code (component code), System, Description, Units (number of units) and % (percent of the total residence that has the component).
To enter data in a grid, do either of the following:
- Mouse/Keyboard: Click in the appropriate grid field, then type the data.
- Keyboard Only: Use the following keys to get to the desired row and column, then type the
data:
Press the Tab key until the highlighting moves into the grid.
Press the Tab key, Enter key or Right Arrow key to move from one column to the next (and from the last column in one row
to the first column of the next).
Press the Left Arrow key (or hold down the Shift key and press the Tab key) to move from a column to the previous column (and from the first column
in a row to the last column in the previous column).
Press the Up Arrow or Down Arrow key to move from one row to the next (in the same column).
When finished entering in the grid, press the Tab key until you exit the grid.
