New Estimate Wizard Foundation & Basement Screen
This screen allows you to specify the following:
- Raised Subfloor: Enter the percentage of the total floor area that has a raised wood
subfloor. This includes anything other than a concrete slab (including the subfloor
for the upper stories, crawl space and basement). If you enter a percentage
below 100%, Residential Estimator automatically sets the remaining percentage to
concrete slab.
You should be careful when making this entry for a multi-story residence. For
example, the entry for a two-story residence with 2,000 square feet of total
floor area that has a slab floor under half of the on the first story, a
basement under the other half of the first story and a wood subfloor on the second
story is 75%.
- Basement Size: If the residence has a basement, enter its size in square feet. Include
both finished and unfinished areas. In single-family residences, town houses and
duplexes, also include the area of any basement garages.
- Basement Partition Finish: A partitioned basement has finishes somewhat similar in quality of materials
and workmanship to that of the main residence. This area of the basement is
fully partitioned for a recreation room, bedroom, laundry room, bathroom, etc.
The cost includes the ceiling, wall and floor finish, and incidental heating.
Enter the size of the basement area with partition finish in square feet.
- Basement Minimal Finish: Minimally finished basements include minimal floor cover, wall and ceiling
finish, electrical lighting and incidental heating. Enter the size of the
basement area with minimal finish in square feet.
