Closing an Estimate

The Close option in the File menu closes the open estimate, closing the Estimate Data Screens. If you have entered data or made changes to the estimate since you saved it, Residential Estimator asks if you want to save the changes.

The steps to close an estimate are:

  1. Click the graphics/Re7help00000078.gif button on the toolbar, or select the Close option in the File menu.

  2. If you have not yet saved the estimate, or have made changes since last saving, Residential Estimator displays the message:

Click one of the following buttons:

Yes to save the changes and close the Estimate Data Screens.

No to discard the changes and close the Estimate Data Screens.

Cancel to cancel the close and return to the Estimate Data Screens.

  1. If you clicked Yes and have not yet saved the estimate, Residential Estimator displays the following:

If you want to save the estimate in a category different from the one displayed, click the category graphics/Re7help00000080.gif button and select a new category from the list displayed. To create a new category, click the Add Category button.

Click OK to save the estimate.
