163 Masonry Walls: Concrete Block
Concrete block exterior walls are solid masonry walls usually built with one
row of standard concrete block and mortar. The wall includes reinforcement if
it is used primarily as a bearing wall. The amount of reinforcing varies based
on structural requirements of the wall. Reinforcing is laid horizontally with
various courses and vertically in the hollow core of the concrete block.
